Our first public lectures on the ever-relevant topic of hate speech took place on October 4 in Moscow.

Our German guest Sina Laubenstein, the No Hate Speech Movement coordinator of the Neue deutsche Medienmacher foundation, shared European experience of combating hate speech in her lecture “Hate Speech: the Strategies of Fighting Back. The German and European Point of View”.

Culture expert Oksana Moroz, MSSES and RANEPA assistant professor, CultLook bureau for digital humanities studies academic director, presented the Russian view on the problem in her lecture “Complaints, Reposts and Censorship: How People and Machines Combat Hate Speech Online”.

Afterwards, the audience had an opportunity to share opinions and engage in a discussion.
