The first workshop of “The Earth is Flat – How to Read Media?” for teenagers took place on September 14-16 in Moscow. It was hosted by famous media theorists and practitioners: Ksenia Luchenko – project’s methodologist, journalist, RANEPA faculty member, Ilya Ber – columnist, TV anchor, historian, RANEPA faculty member, Irina Lukyanova – writer, columnist, Intellectual school teacher, Yekaterina Sivyakova – Cand. Sc. (Philology), MSU faculty member, Iosif Furman – journalist, former digital director at Republic, Irina Neustroeva – animator, filmmaker, Teeter-totter-tam Animation and Multinarium animation studios instructor, Irina Khodyreva – CATOUT animation studio and Ekivoki board games publishing producer. Over the three days of the workshop, its participants learned while playing: to search and to check information online, to verify sources, to create Wikipedia articles and social media video content on their own. Such workshops will take place in 14 regions of Russia as part of “The Earth is Flat – How to Read Media?” project.
