Friends, almost a year ago we recorded video conversations — in fact, lectures — with legendary media experts. Until now, these records have been shown only in closed sessions — at universities. There they were discussed with students.
Under quarantine, we decided to make them public. With a weekly step, lectures will appear on Colta. Some can be discussed with their authors.
Ahead are lectures by Lev Manovich on new media, Andrei Sebrant on artificial intelligence, and Herth Lovink on the digitalization of reality.
The cycle begins with Vasily Gatov, a senior fellow at the Annenberg School of Communications and Journalism at the University of Southern California. We will talk about the phenomenon of post-truth, about how it affects people’s behavior, about how the “strong” and “weak” methods of media influence on consumers differ from each other, and why it is impossible to verify everything.
You can discuss the lecture in the format of a Zoom conference with Gatov himself this Thursday, April 2, at 20:00 Moscow time. For this, you just need to register.
And stay tuned for our future announcements!
